Is Sandro Ramirez really the answer for Tottenham Hotspur?
-Barcelona’s Sandro Ramirez celebrates
Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their interest in Spanish forward Sandro Ramirez, report The Mirror, continuing their pursuit of the striker.
Ramirez left Barcelona for Malaga in the summer, where he has been in good form this season.
The 21-year-old is revelling in his chance to play more regularly, and has netted five goals in 12 appearances this season.
The attacker’s promising talent is clear, but whether he is the right player for Tottenham to be buying at this moment is another matter.

After spending more than £60 million on under-performing trio Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Moussa Sissoko, Tottenham need to make sure they hit a home run with their next signing.
The Mirror report Ramirez would cost at least £15 million, and this would be another gamble they may be wise not to pursue.
Signing players mid-season is always difficult, and it is even tougher for them to adapt from a foreign league and make an instant impact, especially with opportunities likely to limited backing up Harry Kane.

Tottenham are currently seeing first hand how tricky it is for forwards to settle in from abroad, with Janssen and N’Koudou still trying to establish themselves, and Clinton N’Jie before that having a tough time.
If Tottenham are to add another striker or winger in January, they should pay the premium and buy a player who is proven in the Premier League, or even the Championship, who will not take time to acclimatise to English football.
Spurs need a player who can make an impact in the title race and even be the difference maker, and the chances are that with Sandro, it could be months before he starts showing what he is capable of.
