Tottenham Hotspur have quietly announced two new signings – but they’re for the Under-23’s rather than Jose Mourinho’s first team.
Spurs have had a busy summer in the transfer market, landing Joe Hart, Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius.
On the Under-23 scene, Spurs snapped up former Sheffield United defender Keenan Ferguson last month, with his arrival barely making the news.
Tottenham have followed suit with two more signings, sneaking their deals into the match report from Saturday’s Under-23 win over Southampton.
Marcel Lavinier was named in the Under-23 starting lineup for the second week in a row, whilst centre back Tobi Omole appeared as a second-half substitute.
Eagle-eyed fans will have spotted that the match report included confirmation that both players have now signed contracts with Tottenham until the end of the season.

Lavinier, 19, was released by Chelsea over the summer, and plays predominantly as a right back. He can play for England or Portugal, and made 10 Premier League 2 appearances for Chelsea last season.
20-year-old Omole can play as a left back or centre back, and can also play for two countries – England and Nigeria. He was let go by Arsenal this summer, meaning Tottenham are taking chances on two youngsters from their local rivals.
