Tottenham Hotspur have started talks to snap up Chelsea midfielder and West Ham United target Conor Gallagher this summer.
Conor Gallagher is emerging as a top target for Tottenham Hotspur with transfer talks now underway.
That is according to a report from The Guardian, who claim that Spurs have held talks to sign Gallagher.
It’s unclear whether those talks would be with Chelsea or Gallagher’s representatives, but we would assume the latter.
The report claims that Tottenham are attracted to Gallagher’s energy and goalscoring ability from midfield.
Tottenham aren’t alone in the race for Gallagher though with West Ham very interested.
The Hammers just sold Declan Rice to Arsenal for huge money and are looking to add new midfielders.
Gallagher is one target but whether Chelsea would be willing to sell to a London rival is unclear.

Conor Gallagher would be a good fit for Tottenham Hotspur
Ange Postecoglou is going in a different direction with his midfield at Tottenham.
The idea now seems to be for Yves Bissouma to sit in midfield with a shuttling midfielder and a playmaker ahead of him.
James Maddison has taken the latter role and Postecoglou is now searching for his new Reo Hatate.
The Japanese star was able to get on the ball from deep areas, provide progressive passes in the final third, provide real energy in midfield and get forward to score goals.

Gallagher ticks a lot of those boxes and would give Tottenham another homegrown player to build around for the future.
We can certainly understand why Postecoglou would fancy adding Gallagher to his new-look midfield but Chelsea will be reluctant to sell after losing so many midfielders in recent weeks.
N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have all moved on and Chelsea just can’t sell Gallagher right now.
Gallagher only has two years left on his deal though and Chelsea may be tempted to cash in whilst the 23-year-old’s value is at its highest.
