Tottenham Hotspur have now made a verbal offer worth around £40million for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher ahead of the transfer deadline.
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is a top target for Tottenham Hotspur with a £40million offer on the table.
That is according to a new report from the London Evening Standard, who report that Tottenham have put a verbal offer on the table for Gallagher.
It’s stated that Chelsea have kept their lines of communication open with Tottenham throughout deadline day.
Tottenham’s offer does actually fall short of Chelsea’s asking price though, as they want around £50million.
The report does though add that all parties believe a deal is possible before the deadline with real hope of an agreement.
Spurs appear to have opened their bidding at £40million with the scope to go higher if Chelsea say no.
Tottenham seemingly need to go further but if their offers reaches the region of £45million to £50million, Chelsea could pull the trigger.

Conor Gallagher could face a big decision over Tottenham move
Gallagher absolutely loves Chelsea.
The midfielder has been with Chelsea since the age of just eight and has made his way up into the first team.
This is Gallagher’s club and, in an ideal world, he would probably never really want to leave.
Chelsea have made it clear that homegrown players could leave though as they represent pure profit with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have gone with that in mind whilst Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to follow.
Gallagher needs to weigh up whether he wants to battle it out at Chelsea and attempt to land first-team minutes or try his luck with rivals Tottenham.
The arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia certainly complicate Gallagher’s hopes of first-team football and Tottenham could tempt him.
Spurs are already on the verge of one big signing with Brennan Johnson on his way in, but Gallagher could yet follow in a big-money double deal.
