Tottenham Hotspur will not be signing Lloyd Kelly having gone completely quiet on a potential deal for the Bournemouth star.
Tottenham Hotspur have not returned with a new bid for Lloyd Kelly after failing with a £20million offer.
That is according to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, who reports that Tottenham had offered £20million for Kelly earlier this week.
Bournemouth rejected that offer and Tottenham ‘have not come back’ with an offer to meet the asking price.
That would indicate that this potential move is pretty much dead in the water ahead of the transfer deadline.
Football London reporter Alasdair Gold (17:18) also suggested that a deal for Kelly was ‘looking difficult’.
Not only did Tottenham need to offload players before bringing Kelly in, but Bournemouth were really reluctant to lose Kelly before the deadline.
The Cherries seemingly feel that there just isn’t enough time to get Kelly signed up and that means Tottenham have backed away.

Tottenham could come back for Lloyd Kelly in 2024
We would not be at all surprised to see Tottenham return for Kelly in 2024.
The 24-year-old ticks two important boxes for Tottenham in terms of their recruitment.
Firstly, Kelly is a homegrown player, something we have seen Tottenham prioritise with deals for James Maddison and Brennan Johnson as well as the pursuit of Conor Gallagher.
Secondly, Kelly is a left-footed centre back – something so important for many managers in the modern game.

Tottenham have already signed one option in that regard by snapping up Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg.
Kelly would give Tottenham another option on the left side of defence with Ange Postecoglou looking to build up from the back.
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has praised Kelly, calling him a ‘very, very good player’ and hoping that he would stay put.
The Cherries seem to have got their wish for now, but maybe well find Tottenham knocking on their door again in 2024.
