Tottenham Hotspur are credited with interest in Serge Aurier.

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be monitoring Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier, according to The Mirror.

Aurier would only become an option if Spurs cash in on Kyle Walker, and like the England international, the defender would not come cheap.

The two time Ligue 1 winner has two years remaining on his PSG contract, and is regarded as one of the best right-backs in France.

The Ivory Coast international’s game would be suited to the Premier League, but would he be suited to Tottenham?

There is one red flag which suggests not. Aurier is a boyhood fan of rivals Arsenal.

Back in 2013 he posted a photo to his social media accounts wearing an Arsenal shirt, leading to speculation he could be Gunners bound, although he later joined PSG.

The Metro reported that Aurier is a boyhood Arsenal fan.

While this would not necessarily preclude him from joining Tottenham if it was the best career move available to him, it may make it difficult for Spurs fans to take to him.

The last Arsenal fan Tottenham signed was Moussa Sissoko, with The Express reporting how the Frenchman previously hailed the Gunners as his favourite club. Spurs fans won’t need reminding how that worked out.
