The Italian has been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar over the past 12 months, according to reports.

Reports from Italy today claim that long-time Spurs target Federico Bernardeschi has refused to sign a new deal with Fiorentina, after the club tried to insert a €100 million (£85.66 million) release-clause into the contract, as reported by Italian media outlet La Nazione.
Tottenham have been mightily impressive this season, and currently sit in second position in the Premier League table, albeit a distant 10 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea.
And if Mauricio Pochettino’s men are to close the gap on the Blues in preparation for a title tilt next term, the Argentine must surely strengthen his squad considerably throughout the course of the summer.
And Bernardeschi, 23, would be a fantastic addition to the already strong Tottenham team.
The Italian has been in sensational form for La Viola this season, scoring 10 goals and chipping in with four assists in 25 Serie A outings.
He can play pretty much anywhere along the front line, and would provide Pochettino with the option of varying his tactics and formation to a greater extent than he is currently able to do.
And the report from La Nazione would seem to give the Lilywhites a big boost in their hopes of bringing Bernardeschi to north London this summer.
Although the Italian newspaper do go on to claim that they will face fierce competition for his signature from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
