Nuno Espirito Santo has thanked the Tottenham Hotspur supporters for the reception they gave his players and vowed to do whatever he can for the team, via football.london.
Spurs were back in front of their fans on Thursday night as they faced Pacos de Ferreira in the Europa Conference League. A first-half brace from Harry Kane and a second-half own-goal from Pacheco Antunes sealing a 3-0 victory, to win the play-off tie 3-1 on aggregate.
Tottenham now advance through to the group stage, as England’s sole representative in the competition. Having missed out on a place in the Champions or Europa League last season, under Jose Mourinho and Ryan Mason.

Nuno has vowed to help Tottenham whatever way possible to achieve success during his tenure in north London. The Portuguese also thanks the club’s supporters for the warm reception given inside and outside of the stadium on Thursday.
“I can only say I am very thankful for all the support and the reception they give us in the streets,” said Nuno. “I am working for Tottenham, I am an employee, and I will do whatever I can to help the team.”
Tottenham have now taken three wins and one loss under Nuno in competitive games since appointing the 47-year-old in June. Spurs will now hope to maintain their 100% start to the Premier League campaign against Watford on Sunday.
The north London natives are also yet to concede a goal during a top-flight fixture under Nuno. Taking back-to-back 1-0 wins over Manchester City and his former side Wolves.
Tottenham fans Nuno applauds welcomed Kane back against Pacos
One of the players of focus for the Tottenham fanbase that Nuno applauds against Pacos was Harry Kane. The midweek clash marked the first time the striker played in front of a home crowd since announcing he was staying, following interest from Manchester City.
Some Spurs supporters had jeered Kane against Pep Guardiola’s side earlier in the month with chants of ‘are you watching?’ But, this time, sung ‘one of our own’, which delighted the England captain, whose smile beamed large.
Fans could also be heard cheering summer signing Cristian Romero for the performance the defender produced. Nuno will obviously now hope both keep smiles on faces around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium deeper into his tenure.
