Moussa Sissoko has become a figure of derision at Tottenham.
Flop… Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko
Moussa Sissoko had high hopes for his Tottenham Hotspur career, but he has become an unfortunate laughing stock.
Weighed down by his clearly over inflated £30 million transfer fee, the former Newcastle United man has not earned the faith of head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Let’s hope he wasn’t checking Twitter
He has made only seven starts in the Premier League this season, and did not feature at the weekend in their final match at White Hart Lane against Manchester United.
Even despite the fact he did not feature, Sissoko was roasted on Twitter by football fans during and after the match.
Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko on the bench
It is hard to see at this point how the French international comes back and rescues his Tottenham career.
He was an ill fit from day one, unable to establish himself in central midfield and not possessing the skills or movement Spurs need out of a winger.
A summer exit is likely, and he needs it after losing his place in the French squad for their recent fixtures.
His spell at Spurs won’t be remembered at all fondly, but he can rescue his reputation if he gets his next move right and begins playing regularly again.
