Ricardo Pereira has scored in consecutive Premier League games for Leicester City – while Mauricio Pochettino is stuck with Aurier at Spurs.

Not so long ago, Tottenham Hotspur had two England internationals fighting for the right-back berth under Mauricio Pochettino. Now they have the middling Kyle Walker-Peters, converted centre-back Juan Foyth and Serge ‘early bath’ Aurier.
A position of strength has become a weak link in the blinking of an eye.
And just 24 hours after Aurier was sent off yet again in a hard-fought 2-1 win against Southampton, a right-back Tottenham could have signed the very same summer for about £6 million less produced a performance full of class, character and quality to inspire a 5-0 drubbing.
Ricardo Pereria joined Leicester City for £17.5 million two years ago, weeks before Aurier swapped PSG for North London, and god knows what he’s worth these days. Far more than the £13.2 million Spurs offered on March 21st 2017 (A Bola, page 6).

Aggressive, quick and technically superb, the Portugal international scored in a 2-1 win against Tottenham a week ago and he’s now made it two in two. Ricardo was arguably the best player on the pitch as Leicester dismantled Newcastle at the King Power Stadium, scoring the opener with his weaker left foot before setting up The Foxes’ third after half-time.
And with Aurier’s latest moment of madness still fresh in the mind, Ricardo’s latest all-action display has Tottenham fans wondering what might have been.
