Southampton fell to a second league defeat in a row as they were beaten 5-2 at home by Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.
They did though take the lead at St Mary’s Stadium, as Danny Ings fired the Saints in front against a fairly dull Tottenham side.
Spurs did though grab an equaliser before the break as Son Heung-min scored, and Tottenham didn’t look back from there.
Son smashed a second-half hat-trick, before Harry Kane added Tottenham’s fifth in a thumping win, with Danny Ings’ late penalty just a consolation.
Tottenham didn’t exactly have trouble scoring goals today, but fans still want to see one more striker brought in.
Just days ago, The Telegraph reported that Southampton had rejected an approach from Tottenham for star striker Ings.

He responded by scoring twice against Spurs, and Tottenham fans took to Twitter to urge the club to get Ings snapped up off the back of his fine performance.
Supporters admitted that they would love to see Ings make the move, and believe he deserves better than this current Southampton side, with a feeling that he would be interested in a move after today’s result.
