Tottenham have handed their fans a boost by announcing on their official website that Tashan Oakley-Boothe and Samuel Shashoua have signed new deals with the club.

Spurs have confirmed that Oakley-Boothe – who made his debut for the first-team earlier in the season when Mauricio Pochettino’s men faced Barnsley in the Carabao Cup back in September – has signed a deal until 2021.

Meanwhile, Shashoua recently moved up to the under-23 side after shining for the under-18s, and the club have confirmed that his new deal will run until 2020.

It is an extremely positive sign for Tottenham that suggests that they are not abandoning the policy of looking to bring players through from the academy despite the greater pressure that the first-team is now under to try and achieve success in various competitions.

Unsurprisingly, the news has gone down extremely well amongst the Spurs fans on social media. But the supporters have also suggested the next two players that they would like to see agree fresh terms with the club.

Toby Alderweireld proved to be a name that cropped up regularly, but several fans also asked for Tottenham to get Reo Griffiths’ situation resolved. The 17-year-old striker has been exceptional for Spurs’ under-18 side, scoring 14 goals in as many games this term, and that form has attracted the attention of some other sides.

ESPN recently reported that RB Leipzig are interested in Griffiths, and it seems that many of the supporters want to see the club agree a fresh deal with the starlet before he attracts more attention.
