However, the Clarets are difficult to beat on home soil and Pochettino will have to field a side capable of producing something out of nothing in the final third, but also resolute at the back.
Lamela, 25, is the fans’ choice to start the match as he continues to look sharp since his year-long spell on the sidelines with a double hip injury. He has returned to make five Premier League matches, but has started just one of those.
With Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen’s level of form remarkably dropping as Spurs sit 21 points behind league leaders Man City, Pochettino should shake things up in attack and start the man brought to Spurs by former boss Andre Villas-Boas in 2013.
That should see 23-time Argentina international Lamela start from the off for just the second time this season, as one fan described his “ability to beat men in one-on-one situations” as “key”.
