Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that Spurs are ready to pay Houssem Aouar’s asking price.
What’s the story?
Le10Sport have reported that Tottenham are interested in signing Aouar from Lyon in the summer transfer window.
Lyon are looking for between €20 (£17.09) and €25 million (£21.36m) as transfer fee for the France international midfielder.
Spurs are ready to pay it.
Tottenham’s bitter North London rivals Arsenal are also interested in the 23-year-old and have already made a bid.
But Lyon have turned it down, as it is not to their valuation of Aouar, described as “incredible” by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on BBC Sport in November 2018.

As you can see from the tweets below, Tottenham fans are in favour of a move for Aouar.
Well, some of them anyway.
Aouar is a very good and promising young midfielder who is only 23.
For €25 million (£21.36m), the 23-year-old would be a very good signing, not just for now, but in the long run as well.
Yes, Tottenham have good and established midfielders, but there is always room for more good players.
Spurs did not have the best of seasons in 2020-21, and you could argue that new head coach Nuno could do with freshening up the midfield department.
