A 1-1 draw against Manchester United last week was a good result for Tottenham despite the fact that they led for most parts of the game.

A silly challenge from Eric Dier on Paul Pogba in the box gave the Red Devils a route back into the game, but it was a fairly decent performance from Jose Mourinho’s side.

Spurs now need wins under their belt to have any chance of making it into the top four. Chelsea are nine points clear of Tottenham at the moment which makes it very difficult for Mourinho’s side to make ground.

Further hiccups in the coming games will almost certainly rule out Tottenham’s chances of making it into the Champions League next season which would be a huge blow, both financially, as well as on the pitch.

A win is an absolute necessity when they host West Ham tonight, and Mourinho will have to be a bit brave with his team selection.

Spurs started Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko against Manchester United. The Frenchman was brilliant and is a certain starter against West Ham as long as he is fit.

Winks, as good as he is, offers very little in an attacking sense for Spurs, which is alright against a side like Manchester United but it will be detrimental against a team like West Ham.

Spurs need a more dynamic midfielder next to Sissoko, who can make a real difference in the final third. Thankfully for them, Tanguy Ndombele is fit and raring to go, and Spurs fans have urged Mourinho to start him tonight.

Ndombele was an unused substitute against Manchester United, and it is unclear if he will start against the Hammers.

The Frenchman has had his problems with Mourinho earlier this season, but the Spurs boss has been raving about Ndombele recently, and Tottenham fans would love for him to start later tonight.

Here’s what a few Spurs fans had to say about Ndombele on Twitter.
