Doucoure, for whom Watford are said to have paid around £9.5 million two years ago, played against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are urging their club to sign Abdoulaye Doucoure after the Watford midfielder’s performance against them on Monday.
Doucoure, who has already been linked with a summer move to Spurs, was on the losing side after Dele Alli and Harry Kane scored a goal apiece without reply at Wembley.
Yet the Frenchman still managed to impress the home support, to the extent that several are suggesting offering two of Tottenham’s own midfielders – exit-linked duo Mousa Dembele and Moussa Sissoko – in exchange for him.

This is what they are saying about the Watford star on Twitter…
Doucoure has been one of Watford’s standout performers this season, scoring or assisting nine goals in 34 Premier League appearances.
And that is more than all of Tottenham’s midfielders combined, excluding Alli and Christian Eriksen – and nine more than Dembele (not shown in table) alone.
| Club | Combined goals and assists | Appearances | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Christian Eriksen | Tottenham | 20 | 34 |
| Dele Alli | Tottenham | 19 | 33 |
| Abdoulaye Doucouré | Watford | 9 | 35 |
| Eric Dier | Tottenham | 2 | 33 |
| Erik Lamela | Tottenham | 2 | 22 |
| Moussa Sissoko | Tottenham | 2 | 31 |
| Victor Wanyama | Tottenham | 1 | 15 |
| Harry Winks | Tottenham | 1 | 16 |
Would Watford’s Doucoure be a good summer addition for Tottenham Hotspur?
