After the game Spurs midfielder Eric Dier said of his team’s loss, that they felt they were close to breaking West Ham down.
Tottenham did have a last minute effort cleared off the line by Vincent Janssen.
But apart from that they rarely threatened, and fans felt Dier’s comments were sugar coating Tottenham’s performance.
Spurs face Ajax on Tuesday in the Champions League semi-finals.
The worry is that this had an effect on Tottenham’s performance against the Hammers.
West Ham appeared to want the win more, and fans responded to Dier’s comments to convey their thoughts that this was the principle reason for the defeat.
Now Spurs have lost crucial momentum including their 100 per cent home record heading into Tuesday’s game.
