The Spurs striker has not featured for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season.

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted negatively to the club’s injury update regarding one of their players besides Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
Spurs striker Vincent Janssen is set to return to training next week following an ankle injury of his own, as announced by the club’s Twitter feed on Friday.
The Netherlands international is currently undergoing rehabilitation and, in the wake of Kane’s latest setback, would provide Mauricio Pochettino with another front line option heading into the season’s business end.
However, Janssen has not exactly had the best of times at Tottenham since his 2016 move from AZ, with Transfermarkt showing he has made just 39 senior appearances in all competitions and is only just in double figures for goals and assists combined.
Indeed, he has not made a single senior appearance this season, with just some Premier League 2 reserve outings under his belt (Transfermarkt).
Admittedly, Spurs have seen several players who were previously written off as flops go on to enjoy a phoenix-like revival in the Lilywhites shirt – Moussa Sissoko and Fernando Llorente to name but two – and at 24 years of age, Janssen has time on his side.

However, given his poor injury record (Transfermarkt), there does not seem to be too much optimism within the Tottenham fanbase as to his future at N17, although judging by some of the Twitter reaction, it is not universal by any means.
Here is how some Spurs fans reacted to the club’s fitness update on Janssen:
