The Spurs midfielder met up with the club’s supporters while on Africa Cup of Nations qualifying duty with Kenya.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama took some time out of his international schedule with Kenya to meet several members of the Tottenham Hotspur Ghana fan club.

The Spurs ace was part of the team which played against the Black Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium in their Africa Cup of Nations Group F qualifier on Saturday.

Hosts Ghana won 1-0 thanks a late goal from Leeds United’s on-loan striker Caleb Ekuban, currently with Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor until the end of the season.

On Tuesday, Tottenham Hotspur Ghana’s Twitter account posted about the encounter between Wanyama and the fan club:

The official Spurs account then also sent out a tweet paying homage to their player and the fans in Ghana:

Numerous fans took to the social media platform to have their say, with some of them in awe at the opportunity for the fans to meet one of the club’s stars:

Wanyama has been with Tottenham since 2016 when he joined from fellow Premier League club Southampton and has made 82 appearances for Spurs, according to Transfermarkt.

Meanwhile, he has made 52 appearances for Kenya, scoring seven goals, and both the Black Stars and Harambee Stars had already qualified for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with a game to spare, though the West African nation’s victory put them top of the group (Goal.com).
