Spurs may have fallen to defeat but some Tottenham fans thought the £36million-valued midfielder had a good game.
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Harry Winks’s performance in Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League loss away at Leicester City.
Spurs took the lead through Harry Kane on the half-hour mark but Ricardo Pereira and James Maddison struck in the second half to condemn the visitors to defeat – the third time in four games that Tottenham have led in a game and not gone on to win it.
However, Winks put in a decent enough performance in the middle of the park for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, picking from where he left off at Olympiacos as was tidy on the ball, did good defensive work and set up a chance for Son Heung-min in the second half.
Despite the vast majority of the Tottenham fanbase being pretty unhappy come full time and making their feelings clear over what they had witnessed, some found optimism in places and the £36million-valued (Transfermarkt) player’s display was one of them:
The result, combined with the 3pm kickoff full time scores, sees Spurs sit fifth in the Premier League table with eight points from six games, and up next for Pochettino’s charges is the trip to Colchester United in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday 24 September.
