The Spurs ace improved massively for Mauricio Pochettino’s side last term and has been rewarded with a new deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Arena.

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Moussa Sissoko committing his future to the Premier League club until the summer of 2023 (official Spurs website).
The 30-year-old joined Spurs from Newcastle United in the summer of 2016 and, although his first two seasons at N17 were largely underwhelming, he went from strength to strength last season and is now a bona fide fan favourite.
Sissoko’s tireless displays in the centre of the park contributed to Mauricio Pochettino’s charges securing a Premier League top-four finish and enjoying a superb run to the final of the Champions League last time out.
With his previous contract set to expire in 2021, the France international has now put pen-to-paper on a new four-year deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Arena, and he says he is “proud” to have committed his long-term future to the club after overcoming a difficult start.
“Of course I am very proud to sign a new deal with the club,” Sissoko told the Tottenham website. “That means they believe in me and are happy with what I’m doing. Hopefully I can give my best to the club for a long time and hopefully we can get some trophies together.
“I am happy with my new contract. My family and friends are very happy and proud because they know at the beginning it was maybe tough for me, but I never give up. I always believed in myself and tried to do my best even in the bad moments. They are happy and behind me since I started. They are very proud of my new contract.”
Here is what some of the Tottenham supporters on social media made of the update, as announced by the Spurs channel:
Sissoko has featured in seven games for Tottenham this season, including last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester, and has made 132 appearances in all competitions for Spurs according to Transfermarkt.
