Some Spurs fans noted the difference in price between the Legends programme and that of their Premier League game on Wednesday.
It’s all systems go at Tottenham Hotspur regarding their new stadium, with Saturday bringing along the second of two test events needed for the Premier League club to earn a safety certificate ahead of its major bow.
The first of those two events – an Under-18 Premier League game against Southampton – took place last weekend, with 28,987 in attendance to see the Lilywhites record a solid 3-1 win against the south coast side last weekend.
On Saturday, a Tottenham Legends squad will lock horns with Inter Forever, a team of Inter Milan legends, in front of an estimated 45,000 people, with all general admission and premium areas open for testing ahead of the Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Wednesday 3 April.
As reported in the Evening Standard, Spurs legends lined up to feature in the 5:30pm kickoff against the Nerazzurri include Paul Gascoigne, Jurgen Klinsmann, Robbie Keane, Rafa van der Vaart, Darren Anderton, David Ginola and Dimitar Berbatov.
On Friday, Spurs announced on Twitter that the matchday programme for the second test event at the stadium was on sale, priced on the online club shop at £2:
The day before, there was controversy amongst some of the Tottenham fans regarding the price of the programme for the Palace game (£10) and some made their feelings known on the social media platform, as can be seen in a number of tweets in response to the original post.
Following the club’s announcement of the sale of the Legends programme, at eight pounds cheaper, some Spurs supporters weren’t pleased about the discrepancy between the two:
