Some Spurs fans weren’t happy with the timing of the tweet, having fallen behind Arsenal in the Premier League table.

Although there is plenty of excitement about Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium, things aren’t going so well on the pitch, with Sunday providing yet another negative result for the Premier League club.
Spurs’ last five games in domestic competition have yielded just one point, at home against Arsenal, while the matches against Burnley, Chelsea, Southampton and their last game, against Liverpool, all being lost.
The game away at Anfield was a particularly painful defeat, Tottenham very close to securing a draw against the title contenders until an own goal by Toby Alderweireld in the 90th minute ended up proving the difference between the two.
As a result, the atmosphere within the fanbase is a little tense to say the least, and as such, the club’s social media channels should exercise some tactfulness, but one recent post on Tottenham’s Twitter channel did not please some fans.
The article in question was not an issue as such, with club legend Ledley King paying a visit to the official Australian Spurs fan club in Sydney to promote their new Global Football Development partnership with the University of Wollongong.
However, the post ended up backfiring due to the timing of it, and some Spurs fans made their feelings known on Twitter:
