The Spurs defender came off in the Champions League semi-final first leg at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a head injury.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Jan Vertonghen is available to play in the Champions League semi-final second leg away at Ajax.
The Spurs defender was involved in a collision with teammate Toby Alderweireld and Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana during the first leg in London in which he suffered a head injury.
Vertonghen was treated for five minutes on the pitch, was initially given the all-clear and attempted to play on but was eventually helped off by medical staff after appearing unwell.
Tests proved that the Belgian did not suffer from concussion and he trained on Tuesday wearing a face mask to protect his injured nose, something he is likely to wear should he feature against his former club.
When asked if Vertonghen was okay to play on Wednesday night, Mauricio Pochettino is quoted by Football London as saying: “Yes, he didn’t suffer more than a cut on his nose. It was no more than that.
“A lot of players keep on playing in the same situation. It wasn’t a big issue and it’s not a big issue if he’s fit and we give him the opportunity to play. It’s not a problem… I think he will need a mask but it’s not a big issue.”
The Tottenham Twitter feed, meanwhile, included Vertonghen in their team news update:
Here is how some of the Spurs faithful responded to the news about the veteran centre-back:
Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier are both back from hamstring injuries, while Spurs are also boosted by the return of Son Heung-min from suspension.
