The Spurs defender kept out the Gunners’ penalty rebound as the North London derby finished 1-1.

It’s honours even in the North London derby as Tottenham Hotspur held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at Wembley.
The Gunners broke the deadlock just after the quarter hour mark as a counter-attack culminated in Aaron Ramsey rounding Hugo Lloris and scoring with a composed finish.
Spurs were given the chance to draw level midway through the second half when Harry Kane went to ground under pressure in the box and referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the spot.
The call proved controversial as the England captain appeared to be offside in the replays before he was fouled but he nonetheless dusted himself off and slotted past Bernd Leno.
A dramatic finish followed with Davinson Sanchez fouling Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the box in the 89th minute for a Gunners penalty, but the Gabon ace saw his effort saved by Hugo Lloris.
The visitors sought to score with the follow-up but Jan Vertonghen blocked Aubameyang’s subsequent effort to keep the scores level, and Lucas Torreira was sent off in injury time for a late tackle on Danny Rose.
Some Tottenham fans took to Twitter at full time to give their thoughts on the game, with a lot of praise for Vertonghen’s late contribution:
