Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that defender Ben Davies underwent groin surgery and is expected to resume training with the rest of the squad during pre-season.
The 26-year-old Spurs ace was set to have a hernia operation after the Champions League final but he delayed going under the knife to be available for Wales in Euro 2020 qualifying action.
Davies was thus a surprise inclusion in Ryan Giggs’s squad played the full 90 minutes for the Dragons as they fell to defeats away in Croatia on Saturday 8 June and away in Hungary three days later.

Davies was named as a substitute for Tottenham’s Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in Madrid, but was not called upon, his last club appearance coming in their 2-2 home draw on the last day of the 2018-19 Premier League season against Everton.
Spurs will get their Premier League season underway on 10 August with a home game against newly promoted Aston Villa.
