Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth has been called up to the Argentina national squad for the upcoming friendlies against Venezuela and Morocco this month.
This is the 21-year-old’s third call-up to the Albiceleste and could add to his solitary cap so far, having made his debut in the second of two friendlies against Mexico in November (Transfermarkt) – he had previously been capped for Argentina’s Under-20s, winning 12 caps.
There are three other Premier League players in manager Lionel Scaloni’s squad – Manchester City centre-back Nicolas Otamendi, Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra and West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini.
However, while Foyth will represent Tottenham in the two-time World Cup winners’ latest crop, two of his Spurs teammates, winger Erik Lamela and goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, have both been dropped.
