Tottenham Hotspur parted ways with Jose Mourinho in April, and it sounds like a new manager isn’t too far away.
Mourinho’s exit meant Ryan Mason was placed in charge for the rest of the season, and he saw out the campaign with a 4-2 win at Leicester City.
Mason won’t land the job permanently though, and the focus will now turn to Mourinho’s permanent successor ahead of the transfer window and pre-season training.
Football.London report that Tottenham have now picked the manager they want to appoint, and a move is expected in the next 10 days.
However, the deal is expected to ‘test Tottenham’s financial resolve’, and with no manager actually named, fans are trying to guess just who it could be.
The line about testing Tottenham’s financial resolve will likely mean the payout needed to buy the manager in question out of his contract.
Fans believe this points towards Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, who was heavily linked with the Spurs job before signing a new deal at Ajax in April.

The Dutchman will now cost more money than he did a month ago, and that may well be why Tottenham’s financial resolve will be tested if they make a move for him.
Ten Hag coasted home to the Eredivisie title this season, dropping just 14 points whilst seeing his Ajax side score 102 goals and concede just 23.
Fans now seem convinced that the manager in question is Ten Hag, suggesting that a move for him would be ‘massive’ and would bring tears of joy because he would be a ‘brilliant’ appointment from Daniel Levy.
