Tottenham Hotspur fans are reacting on Twitter to Joao Mario’s latest international showing.

Mario, who spent the second half of last season on loan with West Ham United from Inter Milan, has been linked with a move to Tottenham this summer.

Tuttosport suggested last month that the Portugal midfielder could be used as a makeweight in Inter’s offer for Mousa Dembele.

But after an underwhelming 70 minutes as his country narrowly overcame Morocco on Wednesday, Mario is struggling to endear himself to the White Hart Lane faithful.

And it is not just Tottenham fans reacting negatively to Mario’s performance in Moscow, with plenty of neutrals joining in the online bashing…

Mario played 14 times throughout his spell at West Ham, for whom he scored two goals and set up another.

However, it remains to be seen whether the former Sporting player will return to the Premier League next season – be it with Tottenham or West Ham.
