Tottenham Hotspur will have to come from behind if they hope to reach the Champions League final.

A number of Tottenham fans have slammed Dele Alli’s performance during the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final tie with Ajax, with many baffled by the 23-year-old’s current form.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side go into the second-leg needing to come from one goal behind. They conceded an early goal, and the Premier League side rarely looked like creating the chance that would lead to an equaliser.
They looked a lot better after bringing Moussa Sissoko onto the pitch. But it was a difficult night for Spurs’ attacking players, and Alli was one of those to endure a particularly disappointing evening.
The attacking midfielder actually had Tottenham’s one effort on target during the second-half, but he really struggled to ask questions of an Ajax defence that became relentless when they did not have the ball.

But it seems that many of the Spurs fans are not at all surprised that Alli had a poor evening. He has not scored a goal in any competition since January, while he has only provided one assist since the most recent international break.
And with Spurs struggling to lay a glove on their opponents during their biggest game of the season to date, Alli was one of the players that came in for a lot of criticism on social media following the first-leg defeat.
