Tottenham need a striker. Should they regret not signing Jermain Defoe?

Harry Kane’s injury has left Tottenham Hotspur desperately short of numbers up front.
Spurs are in need of signing a striker, and may have just missed out on an ideal solution.
Former Tottenham forward Jermain Defoe has just left Bournemouth, where he spent the past season and a half sitting on the bench.
He signed for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and is excited to try and bring a 55th title to Ibrox and break Celtic’s current dominance.
This is no help to Spurs and a number of fans have been expressing their regret that they did not push to rival Rangers to his signature.
Defoe had two separate spells at Tottenham and became their highest ever goalscorer in European competitions.
He is now 36 and he has a lot to prove after an underwhelming spell at Bournemouth.
He will have even more to prove at Rangers as a result. Tottenham may well regret not striking a bargain loan deal for him.
