Tottenham Hotspur legend Rafael van der Vaart announced his retirement recently.

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have expressed their gratitude toward Rafael van der Vaart.
The 35-year-old, who spent a very memorable two years at Tottenham, announced his retirement from football on Sunday.
Van der Vaart posted a message on Twitter following the announcement, and quite a few Spurs supporters were quick to thank him for the memories.
Here are their responses:
The former Netherlands international scored 15 goals in 36 games during an excellent first season at Tottenham, having been signed from Real Madrid by Harry Redknapp.
Redknapp only paid a bargain £8 million for the Dutchman, who would score 13 times during his second and last season in North London, before returning to former club Hamburg.
One big reason for the adoration is Van der Vaart’s record against North London rivals Arsenal.
He managed four goals in as many games against them, including one in the 3-2 win back in 2010 – Tottenham’s first win away to the Gunners in 17 years.
His last team was Danish Superliga club Esbjerg fB, but Van der Vaart managed only three appearances due to injury since joining in August.
