Spurs made a world-record profit of £113m after tax last season, as per their accounts published on Companies House.

UNITED KINGDOM - 2019

Tottenham Hotspur have posted an annual profit of £113million after tax in 2017-18, a world record for a football club, beating the £106million mark announced by Liverpool in February (BBC Sport) for the same season.

Yearly financial results for 2017-18, published on Companies House (as tweeted by PriceOfFootball), show that the Premier League club’s income climbed from £310million to £380million thanks to player sales, bigger crowds at Wembley Stadium and reaching the Champions League knockout stages.

Figures were released the day after Spurs’ first Premier League game at the new, 62,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the club having spent around £1billion on it and other facilities as of the end of June 2018, thought much of that cost has been met with loans, as reported by BBC Sport.

In addition, Premier League matchday revenue more than doubled from £19million to £42.6million thanks to playing in front of larger crowds at Wembley while the new stadium was under construction (BBC Sport).

As reported by Sky Sports News, meanwhile, Spurs remain sixth in the Premier League’s revenue table behind Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

That said, the gap to their North London rivals was just £22m last season, plus Spurs have managed to double their income since 2014-15, added the outlet.
