Saturday’s Premier League North London derby has finished all square as Tottenham Hotspur held Arsenal to a hotly contested 1-1 draw.

The Gunners broke the deadlock at Wembley Stadium on 16 minutes as a counter-attack led to Aaron Ramsey rounding Hugo Lloris and slotting home.

Spurs then got the opportunity to equalise midway through the second half when Harry Kane went to ground under pressure in the box and referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the spot.

There were some complaints from the Arsenal contingent as the England captain appeared to be offside before he was fouled but he nonetheless took to the spot and slotted past Bernd Leno.

More drama ensued when Davinson Sanchez was adjudged to have brought Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down in the box in the 89th minute for a Gunners penalty, but the Gabon ace saw his effort saved by Hugo Lloris.

Jan Vertonghen then blocked Aubameyang’s follow-up effort to keep the scores level and Lucas Torreira was sent off in injury time for a late tackle on Danny Rose as the final whistle saw the spoils shared.

Following the game, birthday boy Toby Alderweireld (30 today) took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the game:

Here is how some Spurs fans reacted to the Belgian’s tweet:

Up next, Tottenham take a 3-0 lead into the second-leg of their Champions League last-16 tie away to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
