The Spurs academy ace’s assist helped Cyprus make it 5-0 against San Marino and equal their record win margin.

Tottenham Hotspur academy ace Anthony Georgiou was named in the starting XI for Cyprus’s 2020 European Qualifiers Group I opener against San Marino at the GSP Stadium.
The 22-year-old winger, who can also play as a left-back (Transfermarkt) weighed in with an assist, his 56th-minute corner from the right being emphatically headed in by defender Konstantinos Laifis.
Georgiou’s contribution helped Cyprus make it 5-0, a record-equalling scoreline which matched the margins of the nation’s biggest ever international wins (UEFA.com), and they came close on numerous occasions to making it six and breaking the record.

Georgiou came through the ranks at Tottenham, progressing up the age groups, and is currently on loan at Spanish side Atletico Levante, having joined in January on a deal until the end of the campaign.
According to Transfermarkt, he has made 44 appearances for the Spurs Under-23s, scoring once and grabbing seven assists, but has only played once for the Lilywhites senior team, a six-minute cameo away at APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League in September 2017.
