Tottenham Hotspur have a few young strikers with bright futures, but they’re now being linked with a move for another one.

Dane Scarlett is the hot prospect at Tottenham right now, though don’t forget about Troy Parrott and Kion Etete as they continue to show promise.

Still, Spurs will have their eyes on many young players around Europe, and Velje attacker Wahid Faghir appears to be on their wish list.

The Mirror (28/02, p45) suggest that Spurs are now moving quickly to try and sign Faghir this summer, as they are far from alone in the battle for his signature.

Leicester City and Ajax are also keen, with Faghir branded ‘the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ having shown huge potential over in Denmark.

The 17-year-old has hit eight goals and four assists in 36 games for Velje, and has featured at the Under-21 European Championships this month.

Spurs fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, believing that they should sign Faghir if he is anything like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Christian Eriksen.

Others think that Faghir is a ‘great talent’ and is ‘class’ whilst joking that Daniel Levy is ahead of the game by already finding Scarlett’s backup for years to come.
