Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Victor Wanyama has returned to first-team training.

The Kenya midfielder suffered a recurrence of the knee injury that plagued him last season and subsequently missed Spurs’ first two Premier League games of the season.

The former Southampton and Celtic midfielder, an £11 million signing in 2016, has been outstanding for Tottenham since joining Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Spurs go to Manchester United on Monday in a game that will come too soon for the 27-year-old, but some Lilywhites supporters are delighted to have him back in training nevertheless.

Here’s how they responded.

If Pochettiono’s side beat United away on Monday then it’ll go a long way toward justifying his and Daniel Levy’s failure to sign anyone during the summer.

Tottenham, who won their first two games, were the first Premier League club since 2003 to not strengthen during a summer transfer window, but with their form, coupled with the boost about Wanyama, then the same fans who slammed the Spurs duo might begin to understand the rationale.
