Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to the club’s announcement of the departure of TJ Eyoma.
What’s the story?
On their website, Spurs revealed they have reached an agreement with Lincoln City for the 21-year-old.
Eyoma has spent the last 18 months on loan with the Imps, where he made 52 appearances during the 2020/2021 campaign.
His performances helped Lincoln reach the League One play-off final last season, where they lost 2-1 to Blackpool.
The defender has only ever made one appearance for the Spurs first team in a FA Cup clash back in January 2019.
Eyoma looking for fresh start
At 21, it is hard to see how Eyoma had a future at Tottenham amid news of his departure.
His lack of first-team appearances were a clear sign of the club’s lack of faith in him.
With just two years left on his contract, selling him on a permanent deal was a smart decision.
The fee has not been disclosed but Spurs may have earned a decent fee for the youngster, especially after his performances last season.
Lincoln’s promotion adventure is sure to have added a fair bit to the 21-year-old’s price tag.
