Tottenham Hotspur beat Southampton 2-1 on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, beating Southampton 2-1 to put a concerning run of form behind them.
Spurs had suffered disappointing results at Olympiacos, Leicester City and even Colchester United, so a return home was much-needed for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
They took an early lead against the Saints, as Tanguy Ndombele struck his second Premier League goal, firing home Son Heung-min’s pass with the aid of a deflection.
Tottenham looked like they were about to shoot themselves in the foot yet again as Serge Aurier was sent off for two bookings, and Hugo Lloris bizarrely gifted Danny Ings an equaliser.
Fortunately, Spurs didn’t buckle, and Harry Kane put them back in front before a resolute showing at the back saw them come away with a crucial 2-1 win.
A number of Tottenham players impressed, and summer signing Ndombele unsurprisingly attracted many plaudits after his goalscoring display.

The Frenchman worked hard in midfield too before being substituted in the second half, and fans were raving about his display having arrived from Lyon this summer.
Some called him ‘class’ and ‘unbelievable’ after a strong showing, backing him for a ‘brilliant future’ whilst even claiming that he is better than compatriot and fellow midfielder Paul Pogba.
