Tottenham Hotspur released Serge Aurier on transfer deadline day – and now he would consider a move to bitter rivals Arsenal if they came calling.

That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim that Aurier fancies staying in England and would be keen on a move across North London to Arsenal.

Arsenal have been made aware of Aurier’s desire to stay in England, and it’s now up to the Gunners to decide whether they want to take a chance on him.

Tottenham tried to sell the 28-year-old this summer, but were forced into drastic action after signing Barcelona right back Emerson Royal.

With Aurier making it clear that he would be leaving for free at the end of the season, Tottenham agreed a package to release the Ivorian from his contract immediately.

Aurier now has full control over his future, and whilst Tottenham likely wouldn’t sell to Arsenal, they can’t do anything to prevent it now.

Not that many Tottenham fans would want to stop it, judging by fan reactions on Twitter; it’s hardly Sol Campbell levels of vitriol!

Some Tottenham fans think Aurier to Arsenal would be ‘amazing’, feeling that he would do nothing but make Arsenal’s defence a little worse.

Others are giddy at the prospect of Son Heung-min running at Aurier in North London derbies, believing that he couldn’t cope with the South Korean based on their time at Tottenham.
