RMC Sport have claimed that Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham are interested in signing Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma this summer.
The Frenchman has had a decent season under Frank Lampard, playing 33 times in all competitions.
Zouma started just twice in Chelsea’s last eight league games and there is a feeling that he might be allowed to leave this summer, especially if Chelsea sign a new defender.
Tottenham have a lot to consider about their own defence. Spurs have conceded 40 goals in the league this season, the worst record among the top nine teams in the Premier League.
Jan Vertonghen and Juan Foyth look to be on their way out while Davinson Sanchez hasn’t quite been convincing enough.
Japhet Tanganga is still too inexperienced while nobody knows Eric Dier’s best position yet.
Toby Alderweireld is Mourinho’s only reliable defender at the moment which makes it no surprise that Spurs are on the lookout for a new defender.
Zouma is definitely a defender that Mourinho would like and the duo’s previous relationship could come in handy this summer.
However, his injury issues and inconsistency will remain the biggest concern for Tottenham and their supporters.
Spurs fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions on Zouma but it seems like most of them would rather pass on the opportunity to sign him this summer.
