Pundit Roy Keane laid into Alli on Sky Sports after the defeat to Liverpool
He said: “He basically thought he was a player, thought he’d achieved something, but today, non-existent.”
Alli has suffered with injuries in 2019, and did score a winning goal last weekend against Watford.
But the view of some Tottenham supporters is that Keane’s comments are pretty close to the mark.
Two years ago Alli was viewed as one of club and country’s most important players.
Now there are serious questions over whether Alli should get into Tottenham or England’s best XIs.
Alli to be fair has acknowledged his lack of form, but Keane’s comments hint at something bigger, a possible lack of desire.
In response to Keane’s comments Tottenham supporters expressed hope that Alli sees them, to potentially use as motivation to get back to his best.
