Dele Alli has reportedly made it clear to Tottenham Hotspur that he is happy to stay at the club.

Tottenham fans have been reacting to the reports coming out of the Daily Mirror that have suggested that Spurs are set to offer Dele Alli a new contract as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid keep an eye on his situation.
Alli has endured perhaps his least impressive season in the Premier League to date, and yet, he has still scored five goals and provided six assists in the top flight – so it is absolutely no surprise that Tottenham are looking to be proactive regarding his future.

The Mirror reports that Tottenham have held informal discussions with the 21-year-old about a new contract, and the youngster has made it clear to the club that he would like to stay despite the interest that is coming from some of Europe’s heavyweights.

The news has, unsurprisingly, gone down extremely well with the majority of Tottenham fans. Alli may not have been at his best this season, but that is partially down to the standards that he has set during his brief time in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad – and it is fair to say that not many midfielders will boast a better record for the campaign than the one the Englishman currently has.
Many of the Spurs supporters know that Alli is one of the brightest talents in England and it would be a massive statement from the club if they managed to get him to commit his future, especially as he could probably earn even bigger wages elsewhere if he wanted.
However, the reports have not received a unanimously positive reception, with one or two supporters alluding to the fact that he has not been at his best this year and perhaps hinting that it is therefore not the right decision to hand him a new deal if there are more pressing concerns.
