A number of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from the Daily Mail which have suggested that Spurs have now made a £10 million bid for Leeds starlet Jack Clarke.

Clarke is one of the most exciting players within Marcelo Bielsa’s squad. But with Leeds missing out on securing promotion out of the Championship, the Daily Mail reports that the Whites may have to sell some of their players to keep the books balanced.

And Tottenham appear to be hoping that one of those players who could be sold is Clarke, with the Mail reporting that a £10 million bid has been made for the 18-year-old.

The report adds that Spurs have been monitoring the youngster since his debut, which came earlier this season in the 1-1 draw with Brentford at Elland Road. His first start came against Derby County in January.

It has been a turbulent season for Clarke. He was the player that every Leeds fan was raving about around the turn of the year as he changed the game in the 3-2 win against Aston Villa, and threatened to make a similar impact against Nottingham Forest.

But after he collapsed during the draw with Middlesbrough, he has struggled to rediscover his previous magic. However, judging by what some of the Spurs supporters make of the bid reports, it appears that many are backing Mauricio Pochettino to get the best out of him.

Some are underwhelmed by the interest in a Championship prospect – especially as it is no secret that Spurs fans have waited for a new signing for a while now – but the majority appear to think that this could be an inspired piece of business if Leeds are willing to sell for that figure.
