Could Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real Madrid boost Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale hopes?

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are hoping that Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real Madrid could offset a blockbuster move for Gareth Bale.
The Spanish giants sacked Santiago Solari on Monday and announced the legendary Frenchman – who delivered three Champions League titles as head coach – as his replacement [BBC Sport].
It’s good news for Tottenham, who don’t have to worry about losing manager Mauricio Pochettino to Real any time soon, but it’s bad news for Bale.
The Wales international fell out of favour at the Bernabeu under Zidane last season and with the 29-year-old’s Madrid future already on the rocks after a dismal few months, it seems plausible that Zidane’s return could be the final nail.
And Spurs fans on Twitter believe that the door might be open in regards to a stunning deal for their talismanic former winger.
The prospect of Bale returning to North London was floated by The Mirror last month, with the English outlet claiming that Real would offer him and £50 million in exchange for Christian Eriksen.
With Isco also struggling in the Spanish capital this season, there is certainly a need for Eriksen but only time will tell whether Tottenham, who have the Dane under contract until 2020, can keep their star playmaker.
