Tottenham Hotspur are being strongly linked with Boca Juniors star Wilmar Barrios.

Tottenham Hotspur didnt get any new signings in before the World Cup despite Mauricio Pochettino’s hopes, but they could still sign a player currently in Russia.
The likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Kieran Trippier will kickstart their World Cup campaigns for England on Monday night, whilst Spurs defender Davinson Sanchez will be in action for Colombia against Japan on Tuesday.
Playing alongside Sanchez for Colombia will be midfielder Wilmar Barrios, and the pair may even be teammates on the domestic stage come the start of the 2018-19 Premier League season.

Barrios, 24, has been starring for Boca Juniors in Argentina since a 2016 move from Deportes Tolima, and his performances appear to have attracted major interest.
The Independent report that Tottenham Hotspur are pursuing a £14.5million deal as manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to activate the midfielder’s release clause.
Boca are attempting to convince Barrios to stay until January, but with Tottenham pressing for his signature, the Argentinian giants may be about to lose their star midfielder during the World Cup.

Now, Tottenham fans are taking to Twitter to offer their views on a potential deal for Barrios, with some believing that it could spell bad news – or even the end – for Victor Wanyama, given Barrios’ combative nature.
Others feel that Tottenham need to be aiming higher than Barrios given their new stadium and the Champions League qualification, offering sarcastic remarks and suggesting that Danny Rose will have to hop onto Google again if Pochettino’s latest reported transfer plan comes to fruition.
