Tottenham Hotspur were left furious at full time this afternoon as they drew 1-1 at home to Newcastle United.
Spurs were rampant in the first half, creating chance after chance whilst Newcastle struggled to lay a glove on Jose Mourinho’s side.
Lucas Moura gave Spurs a deserved lead, but Mourinho saw his side squander numerous chances, and they were made to pay for not killing the game off.
A long ball into the box, and Andy Carroll’s knock-down ricocheted off Eric Dier’s arm, handing Newcastle last-gasp penalty – which Callum Wilson converted.
Spurs were furious at such a controversial penalty being awarded, and having dominated the game, a draw will feel like a defeat.
Mourinho won’t have much to shout about this evening, at least in a good way, but fans were impressed with the performance of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The Dane started in midfield with Harry Winks and Giovani Lo Celso, and he recorded 96 passes, two key passes, one accurate cross, two clearances, an interception and an aerial won in a strong display.
Fans took to Twitter to hail Hojbjerg, branding him ‘magnificent’ and ‘phenomenal’, showing exactly why Jose Mourinho wanted to sign him.
Others called him ‘top class’ and felt that he controlled the game, with a belief that he is now starting to show his best form.
