England ended the international break with a defeat, as they lost 1-0 at home to Denmark in a fairly torrid night.
Having beaten Wales and Belgium during this international break, England went into the game with Denmark harbouring hopes of a 100% record.
However, Gareth Southgate’s side were disjoined throughout, and it only got worse when Harry Maguire was given a red card for two bookable offences.
Just four minutes after Maguire’s dismissal, Christian Eriksen stepped up to score the winning goal from the penalty spot, with Denmark awarded a soft spot kick.
England couldn’t get back into the game with 10 men, and managed to be reduced to nine after the final whistle as Reece James was sent off too.
Denmark can celebrate a major win though, and whilst Eriksen bagged the winner, a current Tottenham player excelled in Denmark’s win.

Midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been starring for Spurs in recent games, and took that form onto the international stage by dominating against England.
The 25-year-old completed 93% of his passes, recorded three tackles and two accurate long passes as he not only screened his back four but also got the ball moving forward.
Spurs fans took to Twitter to rave about Hojbjerg’s display, branding him ‘immense’, ‘quality once again’ and ‘class’, suggesting that he was running the show against England and quite simply the best player on the pitch.
