The Tottenham Hotspur winger found the net in a friendly earlier this week.

While many of Tottenham Hotspur’s first-team players continue their fitness regimes ahead of a busy schedule of pre-season friendlies, some of the club’s young prospects took part in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Leyton Orient on Wednesday.

Spurs ran out 4-0 winners, with goals from Will Miller, Jadon Brown, Kyle Walker-Peters and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou sealing a comfortable victory, but it was the presence of the French winger in Tottenham’s starting line-up that got plenty of fans talking on social media, especially after they saw his impressive strike.

N’Koudou has struggled for any kind of consistency since moving to Tottenham last summer, and while he showed glimpses of his talent when coming off the bench, his only start last season – in a cup clash against Liverpool – suggested he has a very long way to go.

The player’s protracted move to White Hart Lane may have had something to do with his inability to settle quickly at the club, as is the fact that he is still young and would have needed time to get used to a new league in a new country.

Still, he needs to hit the ground running this season or risk being cast aside just as Clinton N’Jie was before him.

Tottenham could do with that bit of additional sparkle out wide and N’Koudou’s pace and trickery suggest he could offer it. But only time will tell if he can score great goals in competitive action or only in friendlies against lower league opponents.
