Tottenham Hotspur fans could have been forgiven for thinking that they would never see the day when Moussa Sissoko repays his £30 million price-tag.

And in truth, they still haven’t seen that day.

But the France international finally seems to becoming a very big player for Tottenham.

Sissoko, who joined from Newcastle United in 2016, has started Spurs’ last two Premier League games, helping them to wins at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace.

They’re hardly stellar opposition, but they were hard-fought wins on both occasions and the 29-year-old certainly did his bit in helping Mauricio Pochettino’s side earn the points.

The former Magpies winger has been repeatedly slammed by Lilywhites fans during a very mediocre first two seasons in North London – and for good reason.

But Sissoko is beginning to look like a man reborn in central midfield, and a lot of supporters are acknowledging as much on Twitter:

Sissoko is by no means the most talented player in Pochettino’s squad, but few rival him in terms of appetite when he is motivated.

Motivation is a big thing for the Frenchman, who secured his move to Tottenham on the back of a brilliant Euro 2016 for Les Bleus, despite struggling for form with relegated Newcastle the previous season.

If he stays hungry, he stays in Pochettino’s first XI. It’s probably that simple.
